The Case for IBS

The Case for IBS

IBS can lead to so many uncomfortable symptoms - from diarrhoea and constipation to bloating and stomach pain; it can almost feel like your insides are deteriorating.

With 70-80% of your immune system residing within the intestines, it's proven that a disturbed gut flora is closely linked with many immune diseases.

Thankfully, there are non-medical ways to control your IBS 👇

Medicines and Probiotics

There are many prescription medicines available that can help treat IBS - but did you know that one of the most popular treatments, Rifaximin, actually is shown to have lower efficacy in reducing IBS symptoms than a quality probiotic?

Two studies will be highlighted here, with links provided at the bottom of this post.

The first study, by Heng-Li Niu, looks at 35 randomised controlled trials - and they conclude that probiotics, specifically with multiple strains, are effective in improving IBS conditions.

The second study, however, is where the fascinating data is uncovered. A M van der Geest compared a quality probiotic to a prescribed medicine - Rifaximin. They found that probiotics actually improved IBS symptoms better than Rifaximin, resulting in a 32% reduction in symptoms versus the prescription-only medicines' 13% reduction. Not only this, there was a lower incidence of adverse events in the probiotics group!

It doesn't have to be an either/or situation; taking probiotics alongside IBS medication can improve symptoms further, as well as helping with mental clarity and mood.

Which Probiotics Should You Take?

The two probiotic strains with the highest amount of research in their ability to counteract the effects of IBS are Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. Both strains have had a tremendous amount of research over the years, and are proven to be safe and effective.

BioticLift contains 7 strains of probiotic bacteria, 4 of which are Lactobacillus and 3 being Bifidobacterium. Our formula ensures that in each capsule there is a diverse range of the most effective strains with the highest amount of research and only the utmost quality.

Not only this, BioticLift also contains prebiotic fibre to keep the positive bacteria healthy, ensuring they can multiply and colonise the gut; thereby killing the bad bacteria!

Keeping your gut healthy is a regular and long-term exercise - your body can't handle excessive amounts of probiotics at once, therefore we recommend to take one capsule of BioticLift in the morning, and one at night. This spreads out the absorption of the good bacteria, and keeping it flowing through your body passing on the benefits!
